Hi!

I’m Masy Chighizola and this is Press Relief.

Introduced to linoleum relief in college, I experienced an instant love connection. In 2013, I earned my BFA with a focus in Printmaking from Nicholls State University. Fueled by the funds raised from my senior undergraduate show, I made the decision to invest wholeheartedly in my craft by purchasing an etching press. Taking a year off from school, I dedicated myself to my studio practice, creating and selling artwork while juggling a part-time job.

However, my hunger for knowledge and growth persisted, so I applied to graduate schools and earned my MFA from Louisiana State University in May of 2017. During my time there, I taught 2D Design and Intro to Printmaking as part of an assistantship in Printmaking. Although I enjoyed teaching, I always had an entrepreneurial spirit. So, in 2020, I took the leap and established Press Relief Prints as a business, pursuing my artistic career full-time.

My designs are a reflection of the diverse influences that shape my identity. Hailing from Louisiana, you'll find hints of my culture woven into the work alongside my passion for pattern making and the exploration of individual representation through collected materials.

At Press Relief Prints, I'm committed to pushing the boundaries of this medium in ways that are accessible to all. From transforming carved blocks into one-of-a-kind wearables to crafting unique wall decor and accessories, my aim is to create pieces that resonate with a diverse audience.

Thank you for taking the time to view my work! If you have any questions or inquiries about myself or my work, please don't hesitate to send me an email at pressreliefprints@gmail.com.
